This Privacy Policy and Affiliate Disclosure describes how One Bag Review (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit onebagreview.com (the “Site”), and how certain commercial relationships are disclosed. By using the Site, you acknowledge this policy.
One Bag Review publishes travel gear reviews, packing lists, carry-on dimension guides, and related editorial content. For privacy questions or requests, use our Contact page or email cade@onebagreview.com.
1. Scope
This policy applies to information collected through the Site, including our contact form, newsletter signup, and any comments or other features we enable. It does not apply to third-party websites, apps, or services that we link to, including retailers, flight search partners, payment processors, or social platforms. Those parties have their own privacy practices.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Contact form. Name, email address, and message content so we can respond.
- Newsletter signup. Email address, used to send Site updates and related messages you request. We process subscriptions through our email newsletter provider.
- Comments (if enabled). Name, email, comment text, IP address, and browser user agent, primarily for spam prevention and moderation.
- Direct email. Any information you include when you email us, retained as needed to respond and keep ordinary business records.
Information collected automatically
- Technical and usage data. Our hosting environment and Site software may log IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. We use this for security, troubleshooting, and understanding aggregate traffic.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We may use cookies that are necessary for the Site to function (for example, admin login or preference cookies). See Section 5.
You do not need an account to read reviews, packing lists, or dimension tables.
3. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to inquiries, feedback, corrections, and review requests
- Send newsletter messages to subscribers and manage list preferences, including unsubscribe requests
- Operate, maintain, protect, and improve the Site
- Moderate content and reduce spam, fraud, or abuse
- Understand which content is useful so we can improve editorial quality

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent it to third-party marketers.

We share personal information only as needed to operate the Site or as required by law, including with:

- Contact messages: retained as long as needed to respond and for reasonable follow-up or recordkeeping
- Newsletter emails: retained while you remain subscribed, and for a limited period afterward as needed to honor unsubscribe requests and prevent accidental re-subscription friction
- Comments and related metadata: typically retained indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognized and moderated
- Server logs: generally retained for a limited period according to our hosting provider’s practices, unless needed longer for security or legal reasons
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data we hold, or to object to certain processing. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Newsletter. You can unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter email, or by contacting us. Unsubscribing stops future marketing or update emails from that list; it does not delete other records we may lawfully retain (for example, prior contact form messages).
To make a privacy request, contact us using the details in Section 15. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
10. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use discretion when sharing sensitive information online.
12. International visitors
If you access the Site from outside the country where our servers or service providers operate, your information may be processed in countries that have privacy laws different from those in your home country. Where required, we take steps intended to provide appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Material connection and commissions
One Bag Review may earn a commission or other compensation when you click certain links on the Site and later purchase a product, book a service, or complete another qualifying action. Those links may be affiliate, partner, or referral links. Using an affiliate or partner link does not increase the price you pay.
Partner relationships may include, without limitation, online retailers, brand stores, travel or flight metasearch partners (including Aviasales and related travel partner networks), and other merchants or platforms that offer affiliate or referral programs. We may update the specific partners we work with from time to time.
Editorial independence
Compensation from affiliate or partner links does not determine our editorial conclusions. Opinions expressed in reviews, packing lists, and guides are our own based on research, testing, and editorial judgment at the time of publication. We may update content as products, policies, or our views change.
What affiliate and partner links do not mean
- We are not the seller of third-party products or tickets unless we expressly say otherwise.
- We do not control third-party pricing, inventory, shipping, returns, customer service, booking terms, or privacy practices.
- Flight search and shopping partners may show offers from third-party agencies or retailers. Always confirm final price, baggage rules, and terms on the booking or checkout site before you purchase.
- Some product links on the Site may go directly to a brand or retailer without an affiliate relationship. Presence of a link alone does not always mean compensation applies.

14. Content disclaimer
Content on the Site is for general informational purposes. Airline carry-on rules, product specifications, prices, availability, and brand policies change frequently. Always verify critical details with the airline, manufacturer, or seller before you travel or buy. We are not responsible for losses arising from reliance on Site content, third-party sites, or purchases made through outbound links, except to the extent such limitation is prohibited by law.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy and Affiliate Disclosure from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acknowledgment of the revised policy. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
